At UK Weather Chase, we're passionate about both the weather above us and the space weather beyond our atmosphere. Our goal is to provide accurate forecasts, real-time updates, and engaging coverage of weather and atmospheric events across the United Kingdom and beyond.

Founded by weather enthusiasts and storm chasers, we don't just report on the weather — we actively chase it. Our team travels across the UK to observe and document severe weather events firsthand, including thunderstorms, supercells, lightning outbreaks, winter storms, flooding, and other significant weather phenomena. This hands-on approach allows us to bring our audience real-time updates, exclusive photography, videos, and on-the-ground reports from the heart of the action.

Alongside terrestrial weather, we also monitor and report on space weather, including solar flares, geomagnetic storms, coronal mass ejections (CMEs), and aurora activity. We are fascinated by the connection between the Sun and Earth, and we aim to make space weather accessible and exciting for everyone.

Our mission is to educate, inform, and inspire a growing community of weather enthusiasts, storm chasers, photographers, astronomers, and anyone who shares a passion for the natural world. By combining forecasting expertise, storm-chasing experience, and scientific curiosity, we provide reliable information while showcasing the incredible power and beauty of our planet's atmosphere and the space environment surrounding it.

EVENT WEATHER MONITORING

At UK Weather Chase, we understand that weather can play a critical role in the success and safety of any outdoor event. From motorsport and speedway meetings to festivals, shows, and community events, having accurate and timely weather information can make all the difference.

We have experience providing dedicated weather monitoring services for motorsport events, having worked with EXCELR8 Motorsport during the British Touring Car Championship, delivering weather updates to help teams stay informed of changing conditions. We also currently provide weather monitoring services for Plymouth Gladiators Speedway, where understanding weather impacts is essential for both event operations and racing conditions.

Our experience has given us valuable insight into how weather affects motorsport, including track conditions, visibility, safety considerations, and event scheduling. We provide clear, reliable forecasts and real-time monitoring to help organisers make informed decisions.

Beyond motorsport, we have also supported festivals and public events, offering weather awareness and on-site engagement. Whether you require dedicated weather monitoring, forecast support, live updates during an event, or simply want an experienced weather presence on-site, we can tailor our services to suit your needs.

Sam

What began as a personal fascination with thunderstorms and extreme weather has grown into a dedicated platform that follows and reports on significant weather events across the United Kingdom. Sam actively chases storms throughout the UK, capturing dramatic weather photography, documenting severe weather events, and providing real-time updates from the field.

Alongside weather forecasting and storm chasing, Sam has developed a strong interest in space weather, monitoring solar activity, geomagnetic storms, and aurora events. Through partnerships with motorsport teams, speedway clubs, and event organisers, he has also helped deliver professional weather monitoring services where accurate forecasts are essential for safety and event planning.

Dr Robert Harlow

Known to the team as Robbie, Dr Robert Harlow joined UK Weather Chase in 2023 and quickly became an integral part of the team. As Science Consultant and Lead Chaser, he plays a vital role in forecasting and chase planning, using advanced weather model interpretation, data analysis, storm anatomy knowledge, and navigation skills to position the team in the best locations to safely observe and document severe weather.

Away from storm chasing, Robbie works professionally as a psychologist, applying the same attention to detail and analytical mindset that make him such a valuable member of the team. When the forecasts start showing signs of severe weather, his scientific curiosity and adventurous spirit take over.
